About the Medical Clinic

SAMARITAN HEALTH MINISTRIES

For over 25 years, Samaritan Health Ministries has collaborated with volunteers and community partners to serve as a safety net clinic for marginalized communities.

As a Christian non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, our service model is built on a combination of paid staff and volunteers to contain costs while ensuring continuity of care.  From humble beginnings working out of two file cabinet drawers in the Williamson County Annex one evening a week, we spent the next 17 years operating out of a donated triple wide trailer on church grounds.

In 2021, we moved into a new facility with six exam rooms, four dental operatories and expanded pharmacy space.  SHM was originally started as a grassroots organization to address a visible need for healthcare services within the community. Local physicians had taken note of the large number of uninsured patients and gathered a group of volunteers to tackle their healthcare needs. SHM’s model is based on the needs of the uninsured. Often, uninsured patients have untreated chronic diseases that require regular monitoring.  Chronic diseases that go unmonitored end with emergency room visits that could have been prevented.

Our eligible patients are uninsured, live in Greater Williamson County, and earn 250% at or below the federal poverty level (FPL). SHM accepts patients regardless of legal status, race or ethnicity, in addition to those who are experiencing homelessness. Established patients have access to all services which include primacy care, mental health, dental care, women’s health (annual exams and breast cancer screening), and medications from our onsite pharmacy. Patients pay based on income and family size. Fees are $12 - $45 per visit. Medications and labs are provided at no additional cost to the patient. SHM has a strong referral network that allows us to obtain these services for patients in the form of in-kind and discounted services from our community partners.

After 20 years of service, Samaritan Health Ministries remains committed to our mission to provide high quality, affordable health and wellness services that support healthy living among uninsured families in Greater Williamson County.
